The Panty Drawer, a subscription-based company for women that delivers a monthly box of panties and surprise pampering gifts, recently pitched at TCVN’s $1000 OC 30-second Pitch Contest and was one of the top three finalists. The company was founded by CEO, certified relationship coach, and sexuality educator Adriana Gustavson. She tapped Shawn Bullock, a former senior architect at Experian Consumer Services division to be CTO. Bullock directly contributed to Experian’s growth from a $500 million/year company to a now $1.2 billion/year company. Bianca Salami, another entrepreneur with 8+ years of experience and education in the fashion industry who counts Forever 21 among her clients, rounds out the team as their Fashion Designer & Production Manager. Together they are on a mission to eliminate the “burnout syndrome” that working women experience, due to lack of self care.
“We only launched our website two weeks ago, and we already have 80 orders to fulfill,” Gustavson commented at the TCVN OC $1000 30-second Pitch Contest. “We are seeking to raise $500,000 in seed funding, to fund our first round of product, compensate our team, and hire an equally amazing CMO with a marketing budget.” After attending a Pay It Forward event in Santa Monica where she met with TCVN’s Steve Brown for a mentor session, Gustavson was convinced she needed to attend this event. “This pitch competition was the very first time I officially pitched to anyone. There’s no doubt that I finished in the top 3 thanks to the amazing pitch coaching I received from Steve Brown.”
