Samsride is a new rideshare app which recently launched in San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. The app, from serial entrepreneur Sam Xia and Orange County transportation expert Nathan Lee, is a three in one platform with several new features that set it apart from other rideshare app companies.
Drivers and passengers connect through their website, call center or the app, currently available for both iOS and Android mobile platforms. One thing unique to Samsride is that passengers can pay the driver in cash. You must still have a credit card connected to the app, prior to ordering a trip, however customers can opt for cash once reaching their destination. Another unique feature is that customers can also pre-book rides, days or hours in advance.
The service offers a car, suv, or higher quality vehicle’s at an affordable rate comparable to taxis. Lee added that “price points are less then rival app companies, and with the flexibility in payment, along with time ordering, the app is a unique addition to the growing ride share market.” The apps also includes a simple rating system where passengers give a thumbs up or thumbs down rating. Items rated include was the “driver professional,” are the “vehicles clean,” and “overall experience.” Samsride also does not have peak pricing or other pricing surcharges as some competitors’ do.
The app can be downloaded from the iOS App Store here and also at the Android PlayStore.
